Walking route Duin & Kruidberg (14 km)

Take a trip from the forested inner dunes, out to the sea, then back again.

This delightful hike through the dunes is never boring. Ever changing views and vegetation reflect the shifting landscape – from beech forest to coniferous trees, through the mosses and then over the top to go down onto the sandy shore.

Duin & Kruidberg is situated in the northern area of the National Park Zuid-Kennemerland. The dunes here are left to shift and grow naturally, thus you’re likely to encounter a great deal of vegetation, flora and wildlife, reflecting the natural heritage of the coastal region. It’s even possible to steal a look at less common types of Parnassus and the rare natterjack toad (if you’re really diligent).
